First, the issue isn&#039;t how the names are written, but how they&#039;re pronounced. Pierce, Fillmore, and Coolidge &quot;end in vowels&quot; orthographically, but not phonetically. Take those away, and Obama is the fourth name to end in a vowel. And Adams and Adams are, of course, the same name, so Obama is the fourth NAME on the list to start with a vowel.</description>
