I love this name, too (and this cafe). I know what you mean about the tea and crumpets. But I also get a less sentimental Jazz Age vibe from the name--electricity, motor cars, talking pictures, flappers, bathtub gin, Modernism, and of course the phonograph, the radio, and jazz music and dancing.
