Dave, I mostly work at home lately and just pop into Victrola in the afternoon to get a cup to go, sometimes with my two-year-old son. If you're regularly there between 3 and 5, chances are we'll run into each other.

I actually regretted the Tea and Crumpets comment after I submitted -- I meant to say all those things you added -- so, ditto on that :-)

Hope to run into you sometime at Victrola -- tomorrow?

Hi Dave, thanks for your comment. I love this name, too (and this cafe). I know what you mean about the tea and crumpets. But I also get a less sentimental Jazz Age vibe from the name--electricity, motor cars, talking pictures, flappers, bathtub gin, Modernism, and of course the phonograph, the radio, and jazz music and dancing. The Art Deco style of the sign contributes to all that.

I love this name -- conveys sentimental "good old days" of salon conversations and intimate gatherings. Folks huddled around the music box sipping tea and eating crumpets.
