		<description>Hi Erik. Yes, "surface", like lots of nouns in English, can also be used as a verb. To me the verb meaning seemed less relevant to the technology than the noun meaning. On second thought, though, the idea of 'coming to the surface' or 'bringing something to the surface' does add an interesting dimension to the way we think about an interface like this. Thanks for the observation.</description>

		<description>Yeah, but Surface is also a verb. User interfaces are a series of verbs you use to operate on nouns. (*Stretch* a window, in your example.) The verb aspect of this name is its hidden power, IMHO.</description>
